[26/03/2009] Support for the preparation of a Chemical Safety Report: the CSR plugin is now available on the IUCLID website.
Registration dossiers for substances manufactured/imported above 10 tons/year shall include a Chemical Safety Report (CSR). In order to help in the preparation of section 1 to 7 of the CSR, a plug-in has been implemented in IUCLID (for version 5.1). These sections of the CSR cover the identity of the substance, its physical and chemical properties, information on manufacture and use, classification and labelling of the substance as well as the hazard assessment.
The plug-in has the following functionality:
- Extract data from a IUCLID 5 data set or dossier in order to prepare the CSR. The rules for the selection of data relevant to the CSR are fixed.
- Generate from the extracted data a structured document in XML or RTF format. The document is an initial CSR based on the CSR template published on the ECHA website. The user is able to edit the document manually, for example, to add or update data.
A comprehensive user manual is available. This guidance provides insight into the kind of information that the CSR plug-in extracts from IUCLID 5 data sets or dossier and the principal rules underlying the automatic generation of an initial CSR document. It also provides tips on how to minimise the amount of manual revision required to a CSR document by optimising the data entry in its IUCLID 5 source data set.
